Salling Group A/S has consolidated the distribution of nonfood goods in their large central warehouse in Århus. On that occasion they have cooperated with Adding for professional project management as well as getting their processes optimised.

 

Salling Group A/S includes the chain stores: Føtex, Bilka, Netto og Salling, and to manage all nonfood goods the construction of a new central warehouse in Århus was started in 2008. The commissioning began in 2010, where more and more product lines were gradually implemented.

Full automatic warehouse

All operations are highly automated and all storehouses are "manned" by automated picking cranes without manual operation. The palletising for the stores is carried out by the "goods-to-man" principle and is conducted on stationary working stations, where the goods are automatically transported to the employees according to a certain sequence.

The entire warehouse is managed by a specifically designet WMS (Warehouse Management System) that controls Bilka's E-commerce as well.
